Richard Raap

Richard Raap was born and raised on the northwest side of Chicago (two brothers, two sisters), and has been selling real estate in the community "full-time" for over 25 years.  He is a graduate of Lane Tech H.S. and received his Bachelors degree from Southern Illinois University (Carbondale).

Richard has been a full-time RE/MAX Realtor since 1984, and completed advanced real estate classes and State testing for his Brokers license in 1990.  He furthered his professional education by completing course work to earn his GRI (Graduate of Realtors Institute) designation in 1994, the CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) designation in 1996, the SRES (Senior Real Estate Specialist) in 2003, and passed State of Illinois license classes and testing as a licensed residential appraiser (inactive) in 1999.  He has been recognized as a "Top 40 Agent" by the Chicago Association of Realtors, and is a member of the RE/MAX "Hall of Fame".

Rich's wife Sue (graduate of Foreman H.S. & Northeastern Illinois University), also earned her real estate license in 1984.  After growing up on the northwest side of Chicago, Sue & Rich were married in 1976.  Their first home (10 years) was in Jefferson Park until relocating to Park Ridge.  Sue worked actively with Rich and sold real estate for several years while raising their children, Elizabeth 28 (Married to Matt Donnelly) and Michael 25.  Since 1996 Sue has been in the hospitality industry and is now the Sales & Marketing Manager for the Rosewood Restaurant & Banquests in Rosemont. 

To date, Richard Raap has handled the sale and closing of almost 600 residential properties (over 70% representing the Seller), and is stongly committed to helping clients get the best possible service and representation.  He has deep ties to the community, and his strong business ethics make him an outstanding choice to represent you in the sale or purchase of your property.
